WASHINGTON – The U.S. Postal Service today announced its financial results for the third quarter of fiscal year 2026 (Apr. 1, 2026 - Jun. 30, 2026). Controllable loss, which excludes certain expenses that are not controllable by management, was $1.0 billion for the quarter, compared to controllable loss of $1.6 billion for the same quarter last year.
WASHINGTON — The U.S. Postal Service Board of Governors will meet Friday, August 7 in an open session at Postal Service headquarters, 475 L’Enfant Plaza SW, Washington, D.C. The public is welcome to attend the meeting, which begins at 3 p.m. ET in the Benjamin Franklin Room.
INDIANA — The U.S. Postal Service will observe Independence Day on Saturday, July 4. All Post Office locations will be closed. Regular mail delivery and retail services will resume on Monday, July 6. Post Offices will be open, and deliveries will occur as normal on Friday, July 3.
INDIANA — Last year, U.S. Postal Service employees suffered more than 5,200 dog attacks. The issue remains a serious concern in Indiana with 95 dog-related incidents so far this fiscal year (beginning Oct. 1, 2025). To combat this, USPS is sharing vital safety guidance to help pet owners protect mail carriers and ensure uninterrupted mail delivery.
BLOOMINGTON, IN – The Postal Service is hiring rural carrier associates and assistant rural carriers for the Bloomington and Bedford Post Offices. The positions pay $21.89 per hour, plus some benefits.
